WHAT IS OSTEOPENIA?
Osteopenia or low bone mass is the stage just before Osteoporosis. In Osteopenia, the bones are thinner than usual, but have not yet reached the osteoporosis stage. In people of advanced age showing signs of Osteopenia, doctors may suggest calcium supplements to help prevent bone fracture.

WHO NEEDS CALCIUM SUPPLEMENTS?
The following groups are most likely to benefit from calcium supplements:
Menopausal women — Calcium supplements help to prevent excessive bone loss before menopause (perimenopause) and especially after menopause (post menopause). Most women are not aware of this bone loss and do not take adequate care. It is essential that women should take calcium supplements, especially before, during, and after Menopause. If their diet contains some calcium, a supplement of about 1000 mg will be sufficient.
Older adults — Calcium absorption typically decreases with age. It is not uncommon for older adults to be recommended calcium supplements. However, they should consult their doctors, as they are likely to be taking other medications that can interfere with calcium absorption.
Strict vegetarians — People who do not consume any dairy products may need a calcium supplement.
Steroid-medication users — Certain steroids, such as Prednisone (prescribed for disorders such as asthma, emphysema, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease) cause bone loss and may interfere with calcium absorption. People using steroid medications should take supplemental calcium (1,500 mg).

HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER OTC CALCIUM SUPPLEMENTS?
Siddhayu Calciactiv is different from other OTC calcium supplement in the following ways:
1. Calciactiv formula uses 100% naturally derived calcium along with a herbal complex for an overall positive effect on bone and joint
2. Most OTC calcium supplements can cause kidney-stone formation when consumed for a long time. Siddhayu Calciactiv contains Arjuna bark extracts, which is known to inhibit stone formation even with longer duration of usage.
3. Along with this, Calciactiv does not cause GI irritation and constipation, which is one of the major challenges with OTC calcium supplement.
